We were so excited to have Natalie come in to our Downtown LA studio to help us shoot an editorial with our new swimsuit collection!  We chatted while she was getting her hair and make-up done, asking her some fun and silly questions so that our Modocat fans could get to know her, too!

Sherie Wilcox, a sixteen year old from Australia, was the winner of our first ever Cat Girl Model Search which was held a few months ago (for information about our current model search, click here!). Sherie combined her Modocat.com photo shoot with a family vacation to Los Angeles and visited us in our Downtown LA studio.  Our professional hair and makeup artist gave Sherie a beautiful makeover, and one of our Cat Girls, Shante Hillian, a professional model, gave her a few modeling tips.  The results of her photo shoot were gorgeous, and as part of her prize, Sherie became the face of Modocat’s social media.

After the photoshoot, Sherie answered a few questions about her experience and her fashion inspiration.  She loved working with the Modocat Team and especially loved learning some modeling tips from Shante.  Her favorite look from the photo shoot was the Hot Pink 50s Polka Dot Cutout Top paired with the Leather Panel Leggings because of the sexy silhouette.  Sherie says she has always loved dressing up from a young age, and gets style inspiration from her mum. Her style picks and descriptions were so spirited and fun, we thought we would share them with you in a new feature called The Cat’s Meow.  The Cat’s Meow posts will give our Cat Girl affiliates a chance to speak up about their favorite items and trends!

1. Breckelle’s Sandy-21 Leopard Lace Up Oxford Flat

So, anyone who knows me knows I
LOVE my heels. The higher the heel the closer to God, that’s what I
always say! There is this line from a Wale song ‘Downtown:’ “I just want a
girly girl that owns a rack of Jordan’s but don’t sport cuz she love
her pumps!” That is me in a nutshell! The sneakers are just for show,
but the heels were made for walking. These shoes are awesome. The thick
heel creating a nice buffer for walking along with the platform with the
cute detailing in the front.

4. BB Dakota William Tunic Dress

So I am definitely a fan of
clothing that can be diversely worn. This William Tunic shirt/dress
definitely falls in that category. First off you can’t go wrong with black. It’s an amazing color. Sometimes simplicity is key. You can pair
this with a nice pair of white shorts or a pair of skinnies with some
leopard print thong sandals or a wedged heel. Or go sexy and wear it as a
dress and rock a sexy pump like the Qupid or the Camilla booties and
paint the town whatever color you please!

5. Urban Behavior Mini Skirt – Hall of Mirrors

Owww La La!!! This is one sexy
piece. This Hall of Mirrors mini skirt is just the right amount of
sexy. With the intricate detailing on the side, it does not over take
the skirt. I love that the skirt is black, I feel that in any other
color it would be too flashy. But this sexy number is date worthy, club
worthy, even dinner with the girls worthy. Where ever you decide to go,
if you’re in this skirt you’re sure to be in style!

6. Modocat Bohemian Print Legging

I’m love with tribal print. It
has to be one of my favorite things right now. It definitely makes me
feel closer to my heritage. These Bohemian Print Leggings definitely
take me back to the motherland. I hear drums and want to break out in
dance when I have them on!

7. Urban BehaviorAnkle Skinny Cargo Pants Olive

Detail is EVERYTHING! Like I said
I LOVE leopard print. This is exactly what I meant when I said a splash
of leopard print can really upgrade an outfit. Wear it as a waist belt
or a regular one and you’re bound to stop a show!

These are my two favorite
things, Gold and Pearls! How can you go wrong? Classic, regal, timeless;
words that describe the two. Now put them together and we have a party.

We are loving the patriotic trend currently covering fashion blogs and our Tumblr dashboard. Red, white, and blue reminds us of sunny summer barbeques and spirited Fourth of July celebrations. Wearing the stars and stripes can be tricky, but the secret is to keep the look playful and fun, not overly gaudy.  For a subtle tribute to the flag print trend, mix red, white, and blue pieces together throughout your outfit.
